God swooped down to set me free

You saw me in those moments when I was so afraid
You gave me peace and comfort, told me not to be dismayed
You promised you’d hold onto me and never let me go
You held my hand, we walked together as the storms raged to and fro.

A ray of sunshine up ahead shone down upon my pathway
And step by step I walked until it led through a new doorway
You whispered words of tender love, melting all my fears
And You helped give me new courage as you wiped away my tears.

How could I ever thank You, You are everything to me
You so lovingly created me, then swooped down to set me free
When invisible chains held on so tight and wouldn’t let me go
You saw my pain, You heard my cries, I knew somehow You’d know.

Now my days are filled with sunshine and Your never ending love
And Your Holy Spirit walks with me, so precious as a dove
The sweetness of Your tender love my whole life I had craved
I’ve found such a friend in You Jesus and I know my life You saved.

I will give You my tomorrows, I will trust You each new day
And whatever storms may come and go I know You’ll find a way
You made me someone special if I would just believe
I’m a Princess in Your eyes, a royal daughter so it seems!

I’ll fly with You my Jesus, You’re the wind beneath my wings
We’ll soar on ever higher, you have caused my heart to sing
So I’ll sing to You a love song, one that knows no end
And I’ll love You for eternity, my dear Jesus, my best friend.
